The US EPA estimates as much as 50% of landscaped water is wasted due to overwatering caused by inefficiencies in irrigation methods and systems.
Do You Know How Much Water & Money You're Wasting?
Intelligent Flowmeters for Accuracy & Control
Introducing the very first flowmeters specifically engineered for the next-generation of landscape and garden irrigation.
FlowPro meters provide Residents, Commercial Property Owners, HOA’s, Irrigation Contractor, and Home Builders accurate water flow measurements for consumption control. FlowPro's advanced technology ensures the application of precise water amounts in Gallons per Minute (GPM) for optimal efficiency and water conservation, preventing over and under watering, and safeguards against unpleasant water bill surprises.
FlowPro meters can interface with many smart controller systems, check our specifications for electrical connection requirements to see if your controller is compatible . Every meter provide a 24/7 digital display for real-time flow rate ranges from 0.5-25 gallons per minute (GPM), totalization in gallons, leak detection and an optional pressure sensor to measure (PSI) rates in each water zone. This real-time technology provides immediate notification of leaks detected in pipes above/underground or broken/plugged sprinkler heads. All meters are maintenance free, with no rotating parts or water impellers to wear out or replace.
You'll have complete control of your irrigation system- enabling you to adjust water outputs in GPM to each zone and/or plant material, avoid municipalities higher-tiered rate structures for excessive use, and comply with all city water codes, rules, and restrictions. Adding a FlowPro Meter is the most effective and efficient way to measure, calculate, and calibrate any system to reduce overwatering and high water bills.
"If you can’t measure something, you can’t understand it. If you can’t understand it, you can’t control it. If you can’t control it, you can’t improve it.” Dr. H. James Harrington
What is a Vortex Flowmeter?
A vortex flowmeter measures water flow by using a small bluff body in the pipe that creates a continuous series of vortices similar to a flagpole causing a flag to ripple in the wind. The meter senses these vortices as a frequency that is proportional to the flow rate. Vortex technology provides the most accurate water measurement for any irrigation system and is completely maintenance free.

Accuracy of Measurement - % read vs. % full
"Don’t be fooled by “specsmanship." In flow measurements, flow meter error is specified in one of two ways, either as a percentage of the full-scale (%FS) or as a percentage of reading (%RD). Meters specified as %RD, such as FlowPro, are significantly more accurate at measuring low flow rates. In a comparison test against another water flowmeter specified as a +/- 2% Full-Scale, the error rate at low flows was up to a 40% difference. Meters specified as a percentage of reading (%RD) are only within 2% at the reading over the entire flow range.
Smart Irrigation Starts With Smart Measurements
If you're designing a new irrigation system, upgrading to a "smart controller," or replacing sprinkler components, it's time to rethink the way you’re managing your system's water and capacity. Irrigation systems require two critical components to operate accurately: Water Pressure (PSI) is the power that makes a sprinkler system operate. Water Flow (GPM) is the amount of water available for a system. No Water Pressure, No Water Flow. Understanding these two key components, as well as accurately measuring and monitoring their operating performance, is the only way to truly stop overwatering your landscape and save money.
“You can't manage what you can't measure." Peter Drucker
Know the Gallons You're Using
Irrigation scheduling is challenging. If your typical lawn needs 1 inch of rain per week, how many gallons of water should your sprinkler system deliver? The rule of thumb is the equivalent of 1 inch of rain per week is roughly 60 gallons per zone (based on 250 sq. ft.), 3 times per week*. Today, most irrigation systems use simple programs that choose watering days, start times, and duration of run times. Setting a run time to deliver 60 gallons to a zone is, at best, a guesstimate. If you don't know your system’s water flows, your landscape is inevitably being overwatered; though, no one complains about a lush landscape until the water bill arrives! By installing a FlowPro meter, you can simply adjust your timer to calculate the exact amount of water (GPM) for each zone for a fixed time. Without water consumption data, no smart or timer sprinkler controller will work accurately. Stop guesstimating and install a FlowPro Meter to immediately start saving water and money today!
*Check with your irrigation contractor for actual measurements of your zone sizes as they can vary.
Install the meter yourself or call a Certified Irrigation Contractor to have them install it for you.
